The short answer is $0 to $5,000+! Wigs and other alternative hair options vary widely in cost depending on materials and features. New pieces can cost as little as $20 or as much as several thousand dollars. Just to ballpark the cost, expect to pay $200-$500 for quality a synthetic wig or $1,000-$2,000 for a quality human hair wig. There are lower cost options available, but most of theses will sacrifice realism, comfort, or longevity. Some organizations or groups donate quality wigs for at no or minimal cost to the recipient.

Not necessarily. While some women choose wigs that need to be "installed" or glued down, if you get a "glueless" wig that fits well you do not need to use any adhesives, so you can put your wig on and take it off in minutes or even seconds. Even if your wig does not fit perfectly, a dot of glue or small piece of tape is usually sufficient to tack it down.
A good wig typically won't require anything to keep it in place if it is the correct size. If you have an ill-fitting piece, an unusually shaped head, or if you just like extra security you can use wig grips, clips, combs, tape, or glue to hold it in place.
No! You can tuck any hair that you have into a wig cap.
