you need to know that you are a beautiful person just the way you are!
But sometimes it’s nice to rock a full head of hair (or lashes, or brows) and that’s fine, too.
My mission is to serve as a guide to those who are interested in learning more about alternative hair. This space is intended to be a safe and judgement-free zone for those with hair loss from trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), but all who are interested in alternative hair are welcome! The world of wigs and toppers can be uncertain and intimidating, but with the right help you can ease in to the wig world with comfort and confidence.
"Trich" is short for trichotillomania, which is a type of body focused repetitive behavior, Those who live with trichotillomania have difficult-to-control urges to pull their hair out, which often results in noticeable hair loss. Those who pull hair from their scalp may benefit from wigs or other forms of alternative hair to conceal hair loss and serve as a barrier to pulling. Other BFRBs include, skin picking, nail biting, cheek biting, and related repetitive behaviors.
Women (and men) with hair loss for any reasons may benefit from the confidence and ease of wearing wigs or other alternative hair. There are lots of forms of alt hair, including wigs, toppers, brows, and lashes. Enjoy the feeling of looking great, the ease of getting your hair ready in seconds, and the fun of changing your hair whenever you feel like it.
I invite you to let me be your wig coach! Getting started can be intimidating, but I can help guide you through it. Feel free to look around at the information here and if you have any specific questions or want one-on-one help all you need to do it reach out!
